ChatGPT vs MagicSchool AI for Free Lesson Plans

The most common way teachers try ChatGPT for lesson planning goes like this.
They open a new chat. They type something like "write a lesson plan on the water cycle for 5th grade." They get back something that has an objective, three activities, and a closing reflection. It looks like a lesson plan. They read it once, feel mildly underwhelmed, and close the tab.
Nothing in that experience was wrong exactly. The output was technically a lesson plan. The problem is that it was the least specific version of a lesson plan on the water cycle that could exist.
